False Compliants

The TCLA board was informed that someone is filing complaints to the NJ Attorney General's Office, utilizing board member names. We believe this individual is targeting residents that they believe have a business due to a work-related vehicle on the property or Google Map labels. Please know that no board members have filed such complaints. Similar to Monroe Township, TLCA does not have regulations against a resident parking their individual work vehicle at their home or associating a home address with an LLC. TLCA opposes operating a business out of a residence and/or changes to zoning within the TLCA community. TLCA has informed the Attorney General that these claims were not made by the individuals listed and the issue is under investigation by the Attorney General.

Use Variance Requested

Update: The zoning board meeting is now scheduled for Wednesday, March 15 at 6:00pm.

TLCA has been notified of a use variance to allow a resident on South Shore Drive to use his property to operate the back end of his Snap-on business. The variance is for 3 large Snap-on trucks, a trailer, a large storage garage, a shipping container, a dumpster with weekly pickup, and also approval for potential additional storage space/containers as needed. The variance request states the business will operate until 9pm five nights a week and possibly on the weekends, too.

According to the TLCA by-laws, this use is not permitted as all properties should be residential only. This use variance is asking for non-residential use of the property to override the by-laws. This would be the first use case in the area, and if approved, could set the precedent for additional commercial uses.

Timber Lakes Community is a residential neighborhood that has streets with no sidewalks. This Snap-on tool business will increase the amount of tractor trailers driving down the length of the street. As a result, more traffic will create a hazard for residents walking and children playing or riding bikes.

A meeting to vote on this variance is on March 15 at 6:00pm at the Monroe Twp Municipal Courthouse (125 Virginia Ave). TLCA is providing a lawyer to represent our community at this hearing.

Please attend this zoning meeting to voice your stance on the matter. The greater the volume of people, the more significant the influence.
